Why Drive Electric
As more of our electricity on Long Island is generated from renewable energy sources, your electric car or truck will be powered by clean energy rather than polluting gasoline or diesel fuel. Electric vehicles (EVs) save you money on fuel and maintenance cost and lower air pollution. Electric cars are more energy efficient and can save up to 70% per mile. Additionally, electric cars are quieter, have fast acceleration, and require no oil changes.
Rebates & Incentives
The current federal tax credits for electric vehicles offers $2,500 to $7,500 for new EVs and depends on vehicle size and other factors. New York State’s Drive Clean Rebate offers an additional point-of-sale rebate towards the purchase or lease of a new electric car of up to $2,000.
EV Charging Stations are also be eligible for tax credits, rebates, and incentives. PSEG-LI offers a $500 rebate for a Type 2 residential charging station and other incentives. Learn more here.
